Coming Together for
Fun, Fellowship, Unity, and Service

Since the beginning of the 21st century, young (and young at heart) folks in AA, from Nebraska and surrounding states, have shared the thrill to attend an event that has been known to help shape their sobriety. Fellowship is one of the many touchstones of sobriety, and Eat the Big pig encourages just that, and more.

Eat the Big Pig is held at Lake McConaughy in Ogallala, NE. Traditionally, we start the weekend off with a giant bonfire meeting  Friday night followed by fellowship. On Saturday morning we begin with a meditation meeting and finish the night off with a Big Pig dinner followed by a raffle, speaker, and a dance on the beach!

We of the committee are so passionate about putting this event on, we know we couldn’t do it without each other, without the amazing attendance, and especially all of our Eat the Big Pig regulars!

“We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.”

SERENITY

If you’ve never been to Lake Macconaughy, you are in for a treat! With breathtaking views, night skies without light pollution, and the ability to find a wide variety of fellow alcoholics, you’ll most likely feel it at the deepest level of your spirit!

A DANCE

Saturday night, once the speaker has finished, make sure you don’t run off! There is a dance following.

Enjoy the DJ, the giant bonfire, and let loose!

BONFIRE MEETING

A Friday night favorite! At dusk on Friday, pull up your chair or blanket (or just sit on the grass!) for a bonfire meeting.

It’s an experience like none other!
